The question asks about which laptop model performs better with Linux, and it also requests feedback on a used ThinkPad T470. The response should maintain the original structure and length while changing the phrasing.

the price is a bit more for me, and the laptop I choose will come from China instead.
is there a refurbished system76 model available for under 500 dollars?
and thank you for your response!

The issue with Linux is identifying a model that meets all your peripheral requirements. For a laptop, it's important to verify that the operating system can handle the networking and wireless chips already installed. Otherwise, you might need to depend on USB-powered external devices. The main concern is determining which Linux version you intend to use and what network and connectivity options it offers.

I made sure to get it right. To guarantee everything functions well, I would purchase from this company; otherwise, you’re on your own.
Believing in the Intel platform will give you the best chance when using different Linux distributions, as mentioned earlier—just confirm the drivers are compatible.
I personally prefer Ubuntu.
