What is the support for GPU PCI-E cable?
Hi, I recently installed a new computer with a 5080 and it booted up with integrated graphics but no display through the GPU. I had my GPU and motherboard PCI slot tested, and the motherboard correctly detects other GPUs, which also work fine on different boards. The person who tested them advised using a Gen5 to Gen5 PCIe power cable. I own a Phantom 1200W Platinum power supply that claims it supports Gen5 PCIe, so I’m still a bit unsure about what a Gen5 to Gen5 cable should look like. Any guidance would be really helpful.
I own a Phanteks 1200w platinum power supply.
Is this compatible?

The PSU you have?
If you have an RTX5080, you should have received an adapter with your GPU. If not, this is the cable you’re likely referring to:

12V-2x6
Curious about the previous cable? I shifted the discussion from Graphics cards to Power Supplies.
And thanks,
I fixed my issue.
I actually had to connect the cable in the opposite direction, which made me think it went into the GPU when it should have gone the other way. Those are simple mistakes. I also had the PC taken to a technician who didn’t notice anything, so I feel less foolish. Appreciate you getting in touch
