Hey everyone,
I own a Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 Twin Edge OC with 8GB RAM. I haven’t noticed any overheating problems, but because it’s been more than two years, I’m thinking about swapping out the thermal paste and pads. Do anyone else have this model? I don’t know the exact thickness of the thermal pads, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I’m not sure about the thickness of the thermal pads, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I suggest taking apart the GPU yourself to reach the pads and measure them with a ruler or caliper. You could then upgrade to higher-quality options like Fujipoly or Thermal Grizzly pads. This will help you get familiar with the GPU and how to remove it next time.

As for the advice, the old saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” seems to apply here after reading your comment. I’m not facing any temperature problems, but since it’s been over two years, I’m thinking about replacing the thermal paste and pads. That’s because the RTX 3050 is an entry-level card from the 3000 series—better quality pads would be more suitable for higher-end models.

Thanks a lot for your reply! You're completely right—I fully understand the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don’t fix it." That’s why I wanted to ask before removing my GPU. Shouldn’t I be replacing the thermal pads if there are no problems?
The issue is that some experts and online guides suggest changing the thermal paste and pads annually, which made me wonder if it’s really needed. But since my temperatures are stable, I’ll wait a bit longer.
Thanks again for your insight—it was really useful!

They're full of junk, I've never needed to swap out pads or apply paste on my graphics cards.

They merely mention this to market the item, such as only reusing it if it’s been dusty or spent time in a confined space. Generally, just replace cards that are warmer for higher temperatures.

A few technicians and YouTube guides have no understanding at all; it's completely unnecessary.
