A Win 7 license from 2009 might have been upgraded to Win 10, which could then be used for a Win 11 setup. Later, a new Win 10 license released in 2015 could have been applied to another Win 11 system. Or even a fresh Win 10 license purchased in 2015 could have been upgraded to Win 11.

No, the license key isn't malicious. However, other elements still exist. Are you interested in supporting illegal activities?

If it truly is that (and there are such cases) that is completely invalid, yet 99.5% certain to carry a virus.

For users or Windows 10 Home subscribers, Extended Security Updates for Windows 10 can be bought for $30 over a period of one year.

The hardware might not work with other systems, but the license does.

After reading this discussion, I believe I should wait until W10 support ends before considering selling my license. I also think most users will remain inactive, keeping W10 off the network. Thanks for your thoughts.

If it's a separate license, they would have moved it to Windows 11 on a fresh setup.
If it's an OEM license, you're not allowed to run it on your own machine.

The license remains identical to the W11 version, allowing free switching at any time.
