What is the field of view you use?
At the end of the day, expanding the field of view can make it harder to spot distant foes. Going beyond 105 or 110 usually means sacrificing some range. It does boost awareness a bit, but it all depends on the game.
I prefer a wider field of view since it offers a broader perspective... though it might appear odd on smaller screens!
The standard version included with the game seems odd after you modify it.
I haven't ever used 360 field of view... I usually pick 91 to 100. Most games tend to be around 90.
