what is the best ram for ryzen 3700x
I used gSkill ddr4 3200mhz CL14 with samsung b-dies. They came out of the box at 3600mhz 16-16-16 stock voltage on both my new Ryzen systems. No adjustments needed—just set it and run. Once you experience how great and simple they are to work with, I’ll never go back to cheaper memory again.
Hey everyone, welcome! I'm facing a similar issue with my ASRock B550 TAICHI motherboard, paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X and 16GB GSKILL Ripjaw RAM. When I try to add another stick, I get the annoying C5 QCode error. It seems I can only use one stick in either the A1 or A2 slot. ASRock mentioned it might be an issue with the board itself, but I've had the same problem on an ASUS X570-e Gaming board too. Both are brand new. Any advice would be super helpful!
Hello, yes. You placed them in the correct positions. I've tested various arrangements without success.
Hello and thank you for coming back. Usually I overlook the RAM QVL, but I’m curious if you’re past that timeframe. I’m wondering if mentioning your board’s QVL could help connect with G.Skill, particularly if they had issues with another motherboard. I’d rather not bother you, though—what have you been trying so far? Various slot setups, different CPUs, and more? Maybe even the CPU itself?
Hi, sorry to hear this. It’s past the return window for both RAM and the motherboard (mostly due to your own mistake). ASRock asked me to send the motherboard back, but I need my PC for work from home. I’ve tried every possible setup—A1-B1, A2-B2, all combinations. Someone suggested I might have “Lost the silicone lottery.” Could this mean my Ryzen 7 3700X is faulty or that the RAM isn’t compatible? Thanks for clarifying.
It's unusual that you can't use both sticks at any pace. If running them separately works, it suggests an issue beyond just RAM. The fact that the problem persists across different motherboards hints at a CPU-related cause. Were the symptoms identical on both boards? Have you contacted AMD for assistance?
It was identical across both mobos. I didn’t even consider contacting AMD at first. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll take action today.
