What is the age of this Seasonic PSU model?
Hey, here’s what you need to know:
1) Newegg lists the GX-850 SSR 850-FX with a 10-year 120mm fan for $114, available in full mod v2.4 or v2.
2) The GX-850 v3 comes with a 135mm fan and costs $149, also full mod.
3) The GM-850 has a 7-year 120mm fan and is semi-modular for $129.
I think the top 850 model is older stock on Newegg, but it’s more reliable than the GM-850 (probable).
For the ASUS B450 Ryzen 5, it should provide plenty of power without breaking the bank.
Anyone have insight on why the top GX might not work?
Thanks up front.
Nothing top of the line. A Sapphire 4 display capable card with around six HDDs. I don’t play much games. I’ve been using 3 Gigabyte g-85 MB drives since 2008 and they’re wearing out slowly. This ASUS model is my latest upgrade and it’s only just over four years old, but it has 10Gb/s USB so it’s still new to me. Is there any way to find the date or version number from the PSU? (THE OLDER ONE)
THANKS FOR THE INFO
You can check the production dates for certain models. Which GPU are you planning to use? Additional details can be located at the provided link.
To ensure long-term compatibility, it’s advisable to acquire an ATX3.0 model such as the listed options.
Due to this inquiry, I recommend considering a more affordable and contemporary power supply unit that surpasses the options from Seasonics in your system.
