Hey guys, so I got this new build:
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ryx84p
And I've noticed that when I change game settings or sometimes load into a game that my PC makes a clicking noise:
View: https://youtu.be/XV8KFq4rC_A?si=4S8lXo2gKhjggV9a
The example video is me changing the render scaling settings on Monster Hunter Wilds
I'm unsure what this noise is and I am a little worried, it actually doesn't make the game when playing games but the above example happens when I load Monster Hunter Wilds or change the render scale, any idea what this could be? I don't want it frying on me, could this be CPU or PSU coil? The same clicking can be heard when switching the PC on and Off but only a single time, could this be a coil, fan bearing or something else?

Hey guys, I found this fresh build here: https:// uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ryx84p. I’ve noticed that when adjusting game settings or loading into a game, my PC makes a clicking sound. The example video shows me changing the render scaling in Monster Hunter Wilds. I’m not sure what this noise is and a bit concerned—it doesn’t happen while playing, but only when loading the game or changing graphics. It could be coming from the PSU, maybe a coil or fan bearing? The same clicking occurs when switching the PC on and off, so it might be related to that. I’m worried because this build is new, and I don’t want any issues.

Return the power source and request a replacement. This appears to be the issue with the filtering network on the switching transformer being open, leading to the overvoltage spark gap discharging when not under load.

I wasn’t able to detect any clicking sounds. There might be several possible explanations...
Learn more about how to turn the PC on or off. How exactly do you power it up and power it down?
= = = =
Please update your post with the full system hardware details and operating system information.
(Not a pcpartpicker link.)
Power Supply Unit: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?
Storage devices: make, model, capacity, current usage?
Any additional peripherals?
You can proceed by checking the Task Manager and Resource Monitor first. Use one tool at a time, keeping the window open.
Run the applications normally and monitor for changes when the noises start.
It may require some testing and adjustment to identify what’s causing the issue.

I had to increase my PC speakers' volume to hear it clearly (200w studio monitors).

These crank PC speakers aren't suitable in this case. Plus, I tend to prefer being quiet and going deep.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! It seems like a fan blade is rubbing against a cable or cable tie. Try wrapping an A4 sheet into a tube, hold one end near your ear and use the other to check for the noise source. Stick to one thread unless you need a lot of help. + Moved thread to Systems section.
