What is slowing down your system?
Hi everyone, I’m not facing any particular issues with my PC, but I’m considering an upgrade.
My gaming setup includes a MSI GeForce GTX 2070 with 8GB of RAM, a Ryzen 7 2700x CPU, Tomahawk B450 graphics, an SSD, and a 32GB of 3200mhz DDR4 memory. I also have a monitor set at 240Hz and another at 144Hz.
I’ve checked some bottleneck calculators, and they suggest my CPU might be the limiting factor.
If I decide to upgrade the CPU, what options should I consider without exceeding around $300?
If you believe 2700x is a "bottleneck," an R5 5600x would likely offer improved CPU performance, provided the BIOS is updated. Beyond that, the calculator is ineffective, and the issue lies with the CPU, GPU, or other components not handling the game properly.
Not a major issue, just checking for general system improvements. I play some games like Rust at around 60fps and would like better performance, but otherwise nothing specific.
Upgrading to a 5700x would be my choice. You'll notice a significant boost in your minimum FPS, and likely improvements in max and average as well.
