You can try formatting the drive manually using the Disk Management tool in Windows 10. Alternatively, you might need to reset your PC through the recovery options, though this will erase everything. Contacting Microsoft support could help retrieve your activation key if you have it.

In the Control Panel, navigate to System and ensure the Windows key appears at the bottom.

The reference ID provided isn't the key, but I'm here to assist with your OP question.

You can build a simple VB script to "pull out" the data. Paste the provided code into a Notepad file, save it with a .vbs extension, and change the save format to all files. When run, it will display the key information in a window.

Do you have a video guide available? I’m still trying to figure this out... Is it okay to use it?

It's fully genuine; the process simply extracts the key from the registry and formats it for clarity.

The CD key is saved in the registry and can be retrieved using @maybethisnamewillwork's method. If you're using Windows 10 and have a license for that version, you no longer need the physical key. Sign in to the Microsoft Account site, verify it, and you should see a digital license for Windows 10 on your device. When it appears, simply reinstall and log into your Microsoft Windows account during setup—it will register and activate Windows based on your digital license.
