What is Diablo 3?
Could you Diablo 3 players explain to me what the game is really like? My friends are trying to get me into buying this but I am not sure If I would like it. I played a bit of PoE and I liked that, I think Diablo is really similar. Some questions: Does this game still get updates and are the updates free or is it paid? Once I buy the game is it pay to win at all, or can I unlock all content for free. I am guessing this is a pretty grindy game, is there like a story to play through? and what do you do once you finish the "Story"? Thanks!
Diablo 3 offers a more subdued experience compared to the earlier titles. The battles felt too straightforward for my preferences. The AI challenges and weapon selection were surprisingly simple. Once you reach level 5, it can become repetitive and lacking depth. I recommend trying the first two games, though the third had storytelling strengths despite its gameplay flaws. @acercon
Most feedback about the gameplay seems resolved in my view. It’s not about winning—it was always about the experience. You pay once to get the base game; the expansion just adds more content and a new character. You don’t need to be able to play at all. Diablo 2 feels more like PoE than 3, though it stays within the same genre. Personally, even though it’s a triple A title without the high price tag of games like CoD, it’s still a solid investment. To understand Diablo 3, watch Rhykker on YouTube—he provides summaries of classes and their top builds. This will give you a solid sense of what to anticipate in the endgame content.
Repeated rounds keep coming up, and it seems pointless. In Diablo 2 I tried all roles, and it was entertaining (every Diablo run feels a bit tedious). But Diablo 3 quickly loses its excitement, I think—maybe it’s enjoyable only when played with others or if you enjoy similar repetitive experiences.
It's enjoyable, yet it lacks a chance compared to what came before.
