I recently upgraded my EVGA GTX 1080 TI FTW3 with a +50 MHz GPU clock offset and a 415 MHz Memory clock offset. The voltage was set to the highest safe level permitted by NVIDIA at 1.093 V. I also overclocked my i7-7700k to 4.85 GHz at 1.345 V. When testing both with Unigine Heaven and RealBench, I encountered freezing issues in Witcher 3—audio remained active while I moved the character. I had to switch tabs and close the application via the task bar. Could you guess what might be causing this problem?

The GPU overclock appears questionable because you can still hear the game sound even when it freezes. If the CPU overclock had been unstable, the entire system would have stopped instead of just the game.

The overclocking sometimes occurs. It can happen because the graphics driver doesn't really appreciate it when you're doing 3D tasks with a very high setting, but it works just fine in 2D. In short, you have your overclock too high.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the GPU might be the issue, but after reducing the OC, media started stuttering or lagging both in-game and when watching YouTube videos. At least my games now run fine except for that stuttering/lagging.
