Ugh. The machine died after 14 minutes, reaching a high of 92... I'm trying to boost the voltage just in case, but I'm deciding not to push it further since I don't think it'll help.

Yeah, temps will climb over time. There's really no sense upping the voltage on the stock cooler, it's not going to keep it sufficiently cool.
I'm not 100% sure on "Safe" temps. but I believe the 'self preservation shutdown' temp on Ryzen is 90 something C.
IIRC, it doesn't throttle the same was Intel does, but should be throttling somewhere in the low-mid 80s.
So "safe" temps are *probably* 75-80'C or something

I've experienced my 8350 being overclocked in the upper 4 ghz range at around 1.45 GHz, with auto mode enabled in the BIOS. Everything seems to be working well.
edit=for 19 months. refer to my previous post about load amateur settings in the BIOS.

I've experienced my 8350 being overclocked in the upper 4 ghz range at around 1.45 GHz, with auto mode enabled in the BIOS. Everything seems to be working well.

Person's condition is bad. My 1600 rating is 3.8 at 1.2875 volts. It seems worth checking more, but it holds up through 10 Intel burn tests, reaching a maximum of 73 under full load with a basic cooler master vortex and cooler.

Hey there, I think your voltage might be a bit too high. Right now you're running at 3850mhz with 1.275V and have passed all stability checks. I understand not all silicone is the same, but maybe trying 3.8 at about 1.35V could help. Keep reducing the voltage until stability returns. Also, if your CPU is heating up above 80°C, aim for around 75°C under load to protect it without causing damage.
