Powerdirector is... functional but far from the best option. It slows down when using specific codecs and lower-quality source files that other tools handle smoothly. I’ve switched to both PD and Premiere, but I still keep Premiere since it’s more reliable, even though both remain installed.

I currently work with Premiere Pro because it's our standard tool, but early on I discovered Sony Vegas was very easy to learn. Its flexibility and the ability to subscribe to Creative Cloud for access to many helpful programs likely make it a more versatile choice overall.

You're right, some aspects of Adobe Premier and Sony Vegas can be challenging for newcomers. However, mastering them will give you a solid foundation. And as you mentioned, I also included Pinnacle Studio and PowerDirecter on my list because they’re the most straightforward options to start with.
