What Happened to Visualizations in Groove Music?
I was going through this piece about Microsoft enhancing Groove Music with visualizations in 2017, a capability even basic players like Windows Media Player had. Yet it seems it never materialized. This is really frustrating. Anyone have any ideas?
I also suspect this. Since I use music on my PC daily, could you suggest a suitable alternative app?
Winamp is the only one that comes to mind with visualizations. I think the latest update includes them too.
Alternatively, Foobar 2K seems like a close second. I don't use it, but its high level of customization means you're likely to discover something useful.
microsoft stopped it, there are other things like album images and similar content, correctly filling the id tags will prevent seeing "void" again
It seems all the affection has shifted away from Windows 11. The piece recommends revisiting an update for Windows Media Player since Groove Music is no longer a priority. It would have been nice if a newer version with updated features was available on Windows 10.

I tried this out, but it didn't really matter much. The newer Media Player version also lacks visualizations. I found an article explaining that these were developed by a company acquired by Apple shortly after they began using them during the XP era. Instead of keeping the licenses, they were replaced with cover art, which is why Windows no longer supports them on any of its players.
