SSDs tend to lag. With HDDs, the impact isn't too significant.

Windows will show you a notice when the HDD or SSD is nearly full. If it reaches that point, you won’t be able to store more data. Keeping a little extra space—about 10 to 20%—helps maintain virtual memory.
