I found this discussion earlier and would appreciate some recommendations from the community about games suitable for a more recent laptop.

There are numerous lists highlighting games suitable for devices with built-in video adapters. One might assume affordable laptops would perform similarly. What suggestions would you have for keeping the laptop price below 1000 USD?

I would agree with that. I’d also like to know how one could achieve playable framerates on some low-end laptops in more recent games. My attempts—trying and failing—to run Fortnite on a Celeron N3350 with Intel HD 500 graphics came up short. I played at 800x600 resolution, 33% scaling, and the lowest settings, managing only about 18 frames per second. It’s clear that gaming on budget machines has often been quite disappointing.

The level laptop is considered affordable. I've used a few at that price range. Notes and emails are the main uses.

It's a very basic setup, so I wouldn't expect much from its gaming abilities. With more advanced and affordable systems, AMD and Intel have significantly boosted iGPU performance.
For that kind of rig, a text-based dungeon crawler seems appropriate.

Some factors contributed to how quickly I experienced the system's speed, especially when using an old HP workstation with an i5-6500 and RX 550. At first, I couldn't even play Fortnite without a micro SD card due to insufficient space, but later I was able to run it at 1080p with over 100 frames per second.

When exploring back catalogs, emulators, etc., the options are vast. Previously used for running numerous classic games on an AMD e-350 embedded board. SNES/NES emulators, DosBox, and most DX9 titles, even World of Warcraft at low resolutions. Any game from 2000 to 2006 generally works. Modern machines with DX12 and Vulkan support can easily find hundreds of low-res games on Steam.

I need to make sure I understand correctly. I'm focusing on PC games only and excluding emulators, as that topic has already been addressed.

Need to transport 9 individuals to a place 1.5 hours away within 2 hours. I own a Mini Cooper. Won't work.
