I believe I could enjoy Mass Effect, though the original version feels a bit dated. But it's still worth trying. Thanks!

Yes, you need to push through sometimes – they really did a major makeover at me2. If you're super impatient or short on time, you can skip the first part and just watch the recap comic at the start of me2 (with the 1$ expansion). Of course, once you finish the series you’ll probably want to go back and play it either way.
