This command displays your public IP address. It uses torify to fetch the information and redirects any output to suppress it. The process seems to show your current IP, but the exact behavior depends on how torify is configured. You might be curious about why it triggers torify errors or what the output means.

I tried the tutorial that showed how to stay anonymous online. I installed Tor 2-lauched and picked dynamic chains, but it didn’t work properly. I searched for a day until I found another guide that added extra steps. I followed the instructions, set a password on Tor, and copied the 16 numbers into torrc. The full details are in the link you shared. I’m confused about what went wrong and why my configuration wasn’t correct. I really want to understand before proceeding.

The command is intended for testing purposes only. Not sure. To verify if Tor is properly installed and configured, we'll run a simple test:

Sure, I tried several DNS leak testers online and wasn't anonymous at all. I just ran a command, and the test worked. Maybe those 16 numbers in the torrc file were the issue? I should have tested them in between. Anyway, do you know what those 16 stand for?
