No Linux compatibility, that's why I'm skipping it.

I don't like how the launcher operates, and I also dislike them enforcing storefront exclusives, which is why I don't use it.

I was exploring Unreal Engine just for fun and stumbled onto Epic Games Store, which also acts as the Unreal Engine launcher. Now I have access to many free games they regularly distribute. I don’t really like the company, but the store works fine—surprisingly stable considering its recent launch. Even though I dislike them for ending Unreal Tournament and replacing it with Fortnite, I miss the old days when Steam was so busy. (Edited March 17, 2021 – Ash_Kechummm, lots of typos, need help)

I haven't purchased any titles from Epic's store, despite multiple attempts. I was planning to buy My Time in Portia, which was discounted for my wife a while ago. For some reason, Epic's servers incorrectly marked me as living in Manila, making my entered information appear invalid. I missed the discount and ended up paying full price on Steam just to express my frustration. I shared a screenshot with their customer service about buying the game on Steam because I was upset I couldn't set my country of origin. I let my account sit idle for the free games since I'm open to free offerings, but I won't be making purchases from them.

I picked a few titles that were only available there, and I usually grab the free ones whenever I remember opening the launcher. I’m not sure if I’ve actually played any of those free games yet.

I only own three games on Epic since I was eager to play them and didn’t want to wait an uncertain time for them on Steam. There have been no problems, but I still favor using Steam to keep everything organized.

Most people I know rely on Steam store, while I mostly use Epic store for free games.

Installation not required; value typically exceeds €1000 because of the number of free games offered.
