It's fine, though you don't require any additional antivirus besides your Windows Defender.

Avast works well for me, and I haven’t faced any problems with my systems. @Jamdude Maybe disabling it in the settings could help?

It's OK, I've been using AVG since I built this computer and I have no problem with it, keep my computer stay clean. If you want to support the software just buy it, because I don't see any point spending money on anti virus.

They offer Avast Internet Security around $20 for two licenses lasting one year each. I've used it without any problems so far. I can recommend Avast because their free version works well and is lightweight. Invest only if you can afford it and need advanced protection features. Otherwise, stick to the free version and always follow safe browsing habits when accessing the web or moving files.

Never experienced any issues; I use the premium edition on my home server. It functions excellently as a software-based firewall and antivirus. No popups have been an issue—why are people complaining? Just click to avoid showing it again!
