Hey there, I upgraded my PC in 2011 and it was running well. Now I’m thinking about improving it. The main challenge is budget. Here’s what I have: CPU - Intel Core i3 2105 3.1 GHz, RAM - Gigabyte PH67-DS3-B3 LGA 1155, HDD - 750GB, GPU - PALIT GTS 450 1GB, PSU - 600W Silent Pro M, case - Cooler Master Elite 330. I’m considering swapping some parts: RAM to Kingston Hyper X BEAST 1600 2x4GB, SSD to Kingston HyperX 128GB, and adding a Blue WD 7200. My question is: will these upgrades let me run Battlefield 4 at high settings with around 50-60 FPS?

They're getting a new GPU and an SSD, though it shouldn't really change gaming speed. RAM seems to be the top improvement here. I don't think upgrading the CPU is necessary.

The correct figure is around 860, not 660. Expect a drop to about 760 when the new graphics card arrives (likely around 180€).

Create from the ground up; a 660 OC won’t handle BF4 at 60 FPS. And seriously, don’t go after that case—it likely isn’t genuine.

It would work fine without it. I've seen this before. It might wander off around 55 to 75 edits, likely due to the CPU speed, but the idea is clear.

The 660ti had issues playing BF4 on medium settings and only managed to make it through on high settings.

Choose the 760 or r9 280 instead of the 660. Everything looks okay so far.

He visited my place recently and had his FX6300 and 660TI configured for high settings, skipping AA and post-AA, but the output remained around 60.

This optimization seems subpar, perhaps.

Drop everything else. Just boost your GPU. That’s what’ll really help. Consider a GTX 760, R9 280, or R9 285—they’re all similar in price. You should be able to run Battlefield 4 on ultra with AA of at 60 fps.
