What Do I Need To Upgrade In My PC ?
Hey there, I upgraded my PC in 2011 and it was running well. Now I’m thinking about improving it. The main challenge is budget. Here’s what I have: CPU - Intel Core i3 2105 3.1 GHz, RAM - Gigabyte PH67-DS3-B3 LGA 1155, HDD - 750GB, GPU - PALIT GTS 450 1GB, PSU - 600W Silent Pro M, case - Cooler Master Elite 330. I’m considering swapping some parts: RAM to Kingston Hyper X BEAST 1600 2x4GB, SSD to Kingston HyperX 128GB, and adding a Blue WD 7200. My question is: will these upgrades let me run Battlefield 4 at high settings with around 50-60 FPS?
They're getting a new GPU and an SSD, though it shouldn't really change gaming speed. RAM seems to be the top improvement here. I don't think upgrading the CPU is necessary.
The correct figure is around 860, not 660. Expect a drop to about 760 when the new graphics card arrives (likely around 180€).
He visited my place recently and had his FX6300 and 660TI configured for high settings, skipping AA and post-AA, but the output remained around 60.
Drop everything else. Just boost your GPU. That’s what’ll really help. Consider a GTX 760, R9 280, or R9 285—they’re all similar in price. You should be able to run Battlefield 4 on ultra with AA of at 60 fps.
