Hello from Canada... I have a PC with an A4-7300 processor and want to know what CPU I can upgrade to. I’m not very familiar with socket sizes, so I’d appreciate your advice. Thanks!

I use my PC for various tasks including gaming, content creation, and general consumption. It's also used for work purposes.

Consider using AMD A10-7890K or Athlon X4 880K if you have the funds. Otherwise, switching to a Ryzen setup would be a better choice.

PC is meant solely for gaming. But if I upgrade to a Ryzen, that would be amazing—I believed those processors were more powerful... Thanks everyone.

Sadly, FM2+ CPUs are now quite outdated and don't justify the upgrade. A Ryzen with AM4 would only be feasible if you replace your motherboard. For a fresh budget build under $300, even used parts like a Dell Optiplex with a 5th or 6th generation i5 could offer significant improvements.

It's fine, I located an AMD A10-5800K with a quad-core processor for just $70 on Newegg.

I hope your experience with modern games isn't hindered by the CPU. Could you tell me which games you intend to play?
