I'm switching to DDR5 and checking which CPU—Intel or AMD—is more suitable for gaming. The machine is mainly for games.

For gaming, either the Intel 13600k or the 7600X would be solid choices. The decision mainly depends on your budget and how much you're prepared to invest. I should note that the 7000 series only supports DDR5, and I currently have 32GB installed.

It might have been specific speeds, and for some time individuals were really upset about it. It could have been the 5000 series after all.

I evaluated both options and am unsure which one suits you best. Here are the details:

First product:
Intel Core i7-13700K, ASUS Z790 P-prime Wi-Fi, DDR5, 32GB GSKILL, PC build combo

Second product:
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, MSI B650 Pro Wi-Fi, DDR5, GSKILL Flare X5, 32GB DDR5, PC build combo

AM4 supports only DDR4 memory, while AM5 is exclusive to DDR5. The LGA1700 socket accommodates both, but you can't use it for both types at the same time.

Early Ryzen models demanded specific RAM rates, largely because system boards lacked efficient memory routing. This trend has largely faded over time.

The 13700k offers greater strength compared to the other option.

I’d pick the Intel 13600K or higher. You can tell from the screenshots in Survivor and also in Last of Us that they’re handling many more threads than the 7600X could manage.
