What could be causing the issue with your headphones and inline amplifier?
Just for context, I currently use an inline amplifier for the px22 headphones. It lets me manage audio on my PC easily with a slider on my lap. One slider controls general PC audio—music, games, etc.—while the other handles chat audio for Discord and Skype. I switched from the px22 to HyperX CloudX headphones because they worked better. Recently, I noticed the new ones made some white noise, unlike my old ones which were silent. Testing them with the included cables and a straight-up aux cable to my PC eliminated the noise, suggesting a possible incompatibility issue. I can still adjust volume as before, but the white noise remains noticeable. The amplifier connects via USB and aux, while the headphones connect via aux. Any advice?
We might not discover this, but my thoughts remain the same:
Could there be variations in impedance readings between the new and old headphones? Does your amplifier display markings indicating the impedance range it should operate within? Are there extra parts, such as buttons or volume controls, on the headphone wire? Have you reconnected anything else to the headphone itself? Would the new headphones function properly with other devices?
