Is the seasonic 520w psu a decent option or should you think about alternatives?

I was just reading that
) thank you. It looks like a tier 2 psu. Great, now I have my build completed! I just hope it won<|pad|> to require too much power to overwhelm the 520 model. Thanks a lot!

Ok , thanks . So , ill buy the DeepCool Gamer Storm Assassin II and the 520 modular / non modular from seasonic , ill decide when i get the rest of my money .
But what if , let's say , a computer exceeds the power of its psu (not my case , as you've said) ? so for example , someone puts a 400w-450w psu with those components or a gtx 1080 . Im just curious here , thx for your real help though
I submitted an answer but now it's gone? Anyways the PSU could die a spectacular death involving sparks, smoke, burnt electronics smell and possibly scaring the socks of its user. That could be the end of that. Or as it catastophically dies its death can lead to the death of the motherboard or any other component it is connected to. It could simply die a quiet death never to turn on again. Consider this
http://www.evga.com/products/Specs/PSU.a...ab4bb5b12b
product's safety team it has in place
Heavy-duty protections, including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), and OTP (Over Temperature Protection)
That PSU would most likely simply turn itself off. The user may have to physically turn it off and then back on at the switch but it turn back on and operate normally. Hopefully it is at that point they realize they are asking too much of their PSU and buy a new one or come here and ask a question.
The GFX card could throttle itself due to the lack of power. Other GFX cards lack that feature.

Thanks, I’ll purchase the DeepCool Gamer Storm Assassin II and the 520 modular / non-modular from Seasonic. I’ll figure out my budget later. But what if, for instance, a computer’s power output surpasses its PSU’s capacity (as you mentioned)? For example, using a 400w-450w PSU with those parts or a GTX 1080. I’m just wondering if this is something you’re aware of. Thanks for your helpful advice.

I sent an answer, but it’s disappeared. Still, the PSU might fail dramatically—sparks, smoke, burnt smells, and possibly damaging the user. It could end up destroying the motherboard or other connected parts. It might just shut down quietly, never turning back on again. See this page: http://www.evga.com/products/Specs/PSU.a...ab4bb5b12b

The product’s safety team includes protections like OVP, UVP, OCP, OPP, SCP, and OTP. That PSU would likely power down completely. The user might need to manually switch it off and then restart it, but it should resume normal operation afterward. Hopefully, this makes them realize they’re overloading their PSU and decide to buy a better one or ask more questions.

The GFX card could slow down because of insufficient power. Other cards don’t have this issue. Does the Seasonic PSU come with those safeguards? I think it should, so it would be safe in case of a serious problem.

Vlad_14 replied to aquielisunari with thanks and plans to purchase certain components. He expressed concern about potential power issues with a PSU that might fail catastrophically, causing damage or even safety risks. He mentioned curiosity about component safety and referenced specific protection features on the PSU's product page.
