What changes in Jedi Survivor's performance have been noticed since it was released?
I recall an update from September when TH published an article about it. I’m particularly curious about its improvements for lower-end cards since then. I understand it maintains around 90 fps at 1440p on my 6800, and while benchmarks exist, they aren’t always the latest.
Jedi Survivor is certainly on my list of games to check out, and it seems the updates have noticeably boosted its performance and overall quality. Here’s a clip demonstrating its play on the 9/5 patch 7 with a RX6800 and 12900K, which is only about a 4% increase in power compared to your 7700X. Also worth noting is that patch 7.5, released recently, contains only minor polish improvements rather than significant performance changes.
This video displays it running at 1440p, but with maximum settings, the average frame rate comes in around 60. Despite this, even at an average of 55 FPS, there’s no noticeable lag or stutter. It might depend on your display’s refresh rate, but any system capable of 60Hz should handle it well.
At the 5:48 point, you can see that some animation issues remain, which patch 7.5 aims to resolve. So while this appears to be a solid time to purchase based on its current state, it’s still available for $70 on Origin, Steam, and Epic for the base version. You might catch a Black Friday discount if you wait a bit. It’s also part of the EA PlayPro subscription for $15 per month—a non-binding plan with no cancellation fees, so you could try it for a month for that price.
Hey, I still enjoy playing Battlefront 2 and haven’t finished Fallen Order yet. I mostly like the first game because of its opening scene and music. It felt much more manageable compared to what Fallen Order has been. I think I probably got one of these games cheap and the other for free from Epic.
I guess if it takes me a while to finish Fallen Order, Survivor might be on sale too. 😉
How is it performing with your setup? I brought up a comment on a video I watched on YT about someone who used a GTX 1080. They mentioned they had to return the game because after the first level, it started running much slower. You might not face the same issue with an RX 6800, but my 1080 doesn’t support mesh shaders. I think he returned it before the latest updates, and he seemed to doubt whether his current spec could handle it now.
I'll let you know when I start playing it; I've wanted to play it for a while but haven't had the chance.
I'm around 90 minutes in, and the performance (except for a few early glitches) has been excellent. Most of the time it holds steady in the mid 50s during intense combat, but it's still really fun to play.
Check the graphics settings to their maximum and see if you're past the initial tier. Also, did performance decrease significantly as you went higher? From what I've noticed, 55-60 is quite smooth for this title, and I'm hoping my GTX 1080 can handle that at High resolution in 1080p.
