What causes my PC to shut down unexpectedly?
Hey guys, just wanted to share the update. I meant 3.5 instead of 4.5, but it's definitely overclockable. Considering it wasn't designed for high-end gaming really made me skip this. It seems like those humid days with high heat were the hottest on record. After an air wash, everything looks normal again. I even ran stress tests with games at ultra settings while chatting on Steam—CPU stayed around 54 and GPU around 68. I turned off the AC to try forcing a crash, and it lasted about two hours before I stopped. Probably everything's still fine. Point to note: if I want to play at these settings, I'll need better cooling.
last time you mentioned cleaning it, I tried the GPU-Z rendering mode and checked with hwinfo on the sensor page. It showed the behavior of all parts in the system, including temperature voltages, fan speed, number of fans, and their setup.
Yes, exactly what I was doing. The GPU fan speed changes between 24%, 45%, and 65%, but remains steady. The CPU only increases by around 5 degrees. There are no noticeable changes in the PSU side. At idle, everything stays around 35% with no airflow in the room. With air, it drops to about 31% when the GPU fan is at 24%.
I would still choose a better PSU, it's not expensive. I see no signs of it failing so I see no reason to replace the psu simply because you believe they are cheap. Sorry.
