I recently purchased an ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s ATX motherboard. It’s arriving today, so I’m unsure what BIOS it includes, but I’m looking for a recommendation that offers strong performance and stability for a 2700 series processor.

You're asking if you misunderstood something about BIOS settings. It's common to think BIOS is fixed, but many systems let you select your own. Let me know if you'd like clarification!

Typically, motherboards come with the most recent BIOS. If it's missing, it likely indicates the latest version from the maker.

The typical advice is to avoid changing the bios unless it resolves your existing problems or introduces new capabilities; however, you can modify it directly on your motherboard website.

They think it's about the latest BIOS update for their board, like Asus BIOS 3002 or 3004. They're wondering if switching from version 02 to 04 is necessary.
