What are your Frequently Asked Questions?
I'm preparing a beginner's guide for Star Citizen and am thinking about the most common questions people ask. I plan to start with a FAQ section as soon as it's ready. The top questions right now include: choosing the starter ship, why the game isn't launching yet, restrictions on flying certain ships, what activities are available, navigation limitations, REC details compared to UEC, weapon purchases, multiplayer options, required hardware, performance issues like low FPS and crashes, and the pricing concern about £5000 ships.
If you're doing a starter guide, the questions would probably be: - What are REC? - What should I rent with REC? - What does it mean to turn off Comstab and G-Safe and why would I want to do that? - What does de-coupling mean? - What are the different game modes I can play in? - How do I add friends and play matches with them? If you're doing a general FAQ, questions will probably be more along the line of: - Why can't I run this game on ultra settings all the time? - Why is there so much stuttering? - When will the next patch be out? - Why isn't this ship ready yet? - When will the game come out? - Why would I want to play a game that crashes so frequently? (Hopefully these answers will be about how the game is in progress/pre-alpha and how much fun you can have) Finally, if you're doing an FAQ for this sub-forum, the most frequently asked question is "what game are you talking about?"
Less of an issue now that there is a game menu but before a question I got was: "I have loaded into a big empty hanger and can walk around... what do I do now?"
It's really common to hear those kinds of reactions. The excitement around the $5000 ships is high, and people are curious about pricing and gameplay. The pay2win aspect is often debated, and ship counts seem to be a hot topic. Ships are definitely a key feature here.
Sure, adding that detail to the FAQ would help clarify which game we're discussing. It's a solid way to address questions about Pay2Win.
