What are you trying to fix? ^-^
So, there is this useless programm called "Privoxy". For some reason it is sitting on my C: drive. All it does is to connect to a proxy-server whenever it wants. I does that maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I have no idea how it got on my PC, but apperantly I'm not the only one that has this problem. I tried to uninstall it by searching for it in Windows, but Windows doesn't even list it under the "uninstall software"-list thing. I've tried to delete the folder it is installed in, but after a few days it's just there again. Does anyone know how to remove it or is it possible to secure the proxy settings in windows so that "Privoxy" doesn't have access to it? Cause all it does is just enableing the proxy settings in Windows. I use Windows 10. I had it already on Windows 8.1 and thought with Windows 10 I might get rid of the problem.
Consider using Malwarebytes to check for any potential threats. It’s a trusted tool. As @itachipirate mentioned, it’s safe to use.
You can remove it yourself. Clear all related files from Program Files, Programdata, and Appdata. Also, look through the registry for any matching keys and delete them.
I tried the approach you mentioned, but it didn’t appear there. I checked the registry and only found a single folder named "Files(x86)". I searched for about two hours without success, so I’m not sure what I missed. Maybe something related is hidden there. Thanks for checking!
They discovered some Privoxy files, though it's not clear if they captured everything. I'll remove those files and check later if it improves things. Thanks again for your help! Also, appreciate the support from everyone else. I mentioned finding something in the Appdata folder and successfully uninstalled it.

Keep in mind that after installing something, if you later remove it, the file might stay in the "Junk files" folder.
