These are referred to as headers. Motherboard guides provide detailed information about them. On the left to right you'll find HD Audio connector (for front panel audio on your case), clear CMOS (in case any action doesn't affect the BIOS), chassis fan header 2, most likely front panel IO header, and USB2 header.

When unsure about header functions, check the manufacturer's website for a manual. It usually explains each header's purpose clearly. For the headers you mentioned, Levent is accurate. If the front panel IO header isn't labeled on the board, the manual will detail each pin's role. This is where you'll connect the power switch, reset switch, power LED, and HDD activity LED.
