Hello everyone,
I'm a business analytics student at university and I require a laptop. Could anyone assist me in deciding whether to choose a Chromebook or a PC for coding tasks? Which option would be more suitable?

Chromebooks have significant restrictions on the apps they can run. Opt for a typical laptop with a decent display and the highest available RAM.

Yes, it's Unix-based and suitable for coding and testing across major operating systems. Of course, the introductory versions aren't designed for ARM devices. MacBooks are typically regarded as the top choice for developers.

It mainly depends on the specific programming tasks the user intends to perform. Websites are manageable on a Mac. The Windows front end offers limited capabilities.

Windows is possible on a Mac, but not with the latest M1 models. You won't be able to develop for MacOS or iOS using Chrome or Windows laptops.

Because the OP hasn't returned recently, it might help to give more details...this is just casual conversation. A Mac isn't the only option for coding tools; each has its own strengths, much like Windows does for similar tasks.

Unless you need something extremely particular and only a Mac is preferable over a Windows laptop due to flexibility, superior native Linux support, and bootcamp opportunities.
Just because the original poster hasn’t returned doesn’t imply others won’t check the thread and review the content.
