What are some suggestions for a new GPU?
Im looking to upgrade my GPU in my PC. Im using a RX 580 along with a supermicro C7Z170-OCE MOBO and an Intel I7-6700k processor with 32 GB of RAM and a Corsair RM850x PSU. I mostly do video editing with Davinci Resolve 4K resolution videos, and started dipping into best buy which offers the PNY - GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Overclocked 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 Graphics Card and XFX - SPEEDSTER SWFT210 AMD Radeon RX 7600 Core 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0.
I know its not the most up to date hardware and was wondering if either one of these would work, or if theres a better value card out there? Thanks in advance!
From the two options, the 5060ti 16gb appears to be the stronger choice. I’m not sure how each card performs in your specific applications. You might also want to consider the AMD rx 9060xt 16gb cards, which should match the 5060ti but at a more affordable price.

They would drop into your system but if you're not going to upgrade the rest of your system anytime soon, then you should avoid spending money on a concurrent GPU onto yesteryears platform.

I'd side with the Nvidia cards as Da Vinci is optimized better towards said GPU camp.
I was considering NVIDIA because DaVinci Resolve relies on CUDA for speed. AMD has faced driver problems for a longer period too.
In a gaming-only situation, I would always choose the 9060xt 16gb. However, considering your needs, the 5060ti 16gb becomes a reasonable choice. You're paying more for the AMD card, but given the specific use case, it seems to be the optimal option.
Nvidia seems to be the preferable choice for your needs. Previously, the company faced driver problems earlier this year.
I’d use the money from the video card to purchase a new PC. They’re offering solid deals on MB, CPU, and RAM for around $300 to $450 at the market. After upgrading your power supply, you can concentrate on saving for the video card.
I believe upgrading the GPU would be more advantageous given the main purpose is Da Vinci Resolve, offering a more significant improvement. Still, I think a budget system upgrade would also be helpful.
A new MOBO and CPU are coming up next on my list. I currently have CORSAIR - VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 UDIMM RAM and am planning to eventually pair it with a suitable GPU for my 4K video editing needs. Updates from Windows 10 to 11 are also keeping me on my toes.
