I've enjoyed Portal, Portal 2, and Half-Life 2. Those are among my top picks. In reality, Half-Life 2 and Portal 2 rank high on my favorites. Portal sits a bit lower on the list. However, I'm still new to gaming, so I'm seeking titles with equally deep storytelling. If there are options that emphasize narrative over action, that would be perfect for me. I think most first-person shooters prioritize combat at the expense of plot, which isn't ideal for my taste. You might understand what I mean, but I'm specifically looking for a single-player experience with a satisfying story and a sense of achievement upon completion. That's why I really appreciated Portal 2—it had such an engaging ending and a memorable credits track.

I consider a piece "story-rich" when it sparks reflection on the surroundings or conveys meaning through a clear, linear narrative.

Are you looking for a straightforward scripted experience? Skyrim comes highly recommended with its solid main narrative and many side quests. Thief offers a more linear path with a solid story, though it leans toward a gritty tone. Ryse: Son of Rome delivers a compelling tale despite its shorter length, and I tend to favor Romanesque settings. Mirror's Edge and ME Catalyst provide engaging stories without heavy violence. L.A. Noire is also an excellent choice for a narrative-driven game.

Well, its kinda just a story to follow. Here's my example: In Portal 2, you are a test subject in Aperture Science Laboratories. If I remember right, the laboratory is part abandoned, but my point is that it is something to follow. Any game can have a story though, but an interesting story or one thats easy to follow and one thats realistic are the stories I'm looking for. A game that's free-for-all like TF2 or really any COD game is the kind of game I don't want, just because its repetative.

AC Black flag is available at no cost on uplay right now. Could be a good chance.

Supporting Telltale games like Minecraft Story Mode and the Walking Dead series again. They feel like a live TV show or movie, with great writing from top talent.

These two titles are outstanding narratives, each with its own unique gameplay, yet both delivered powerful emotional moments that moved me deeply. I strongly suggest trying them out at least once to fully appreciate the stories they present.
