I just transferred my OS from one SSD to another using Acronis. This didn’t go well—I think. Now I have a minor problem. When I drag or copy something onto the new drive, Windows prompts for permission. How can I adjust that? It looks like I’m logged in as an administrator, and it seems the admin role has broad access. Do you know what’s causing this? Edited May 29, 2024 by leclod

I think you don’t own those files or the drive, but since you have access to the admin group, you need to ask for admin privileges. You can either add your user to the permissions on the drive and folders or switch the ownership to your account.

Ownership refers to possession of something. You can locate it by checking the relevant records or documentation. Edit: ok, I'm on it... this is quite challenging, I hope I haven't caused any issues while making improvements yet... Edited May 29, 2024 by leclod
