Specs:
CPU: FX-6300 6-Core 3.5 GHz ( no overclock, too scared lol)
MOBO: MSI 760GMA-P34 AM3+
PSU: Antec 450w
Ram: 8GB DDR3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz
GPU: MSI GTX 750ti 2GB (Link:
http://
)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
I've been advised to not overclock my cpu because my mobo is kinda cheap, so I'm wondering if its possible to overclock my gpu instead? It draws all its power from the pci slot on the motherboard because thats all it needs so I was wondering if it was safe to do so. And if IT IS POSSIBLE, then how should I go about it? I just want more fps in games i play while I wait to upgrade

As long as you don't force the card too much, it's completely safe. It's true that the board lacks strong power and thermal management, so it shouldn't be used for overclocking. There would be minimal improvement in FPS from any attempts.

■ Your PSU consistently provides 450 watts, which meets your requirements, though it might draw more than that from your home cords based on its efficiency.
■ The motherboard features a 5+1 phase power design (ferrite core choke plus intersil mosfet driver) using either Matsuhita/Panasonic capacitors or Nichi Con capacitor (blue paint aluminum seal, the latter being considered top quality at the time of release).
Unfortunately, the 760GMA P43 lacks safety features, so you should rely on the PSU "brake" (handling over/under voltage, power surges, etc.) or a UPS with similar capabilities.
The optimal solution is to use a high-quality CPU cooler and attempt retries until a stable highest OC preset is achieved.
An OC 750Ti will never approach the stock 770 performance, especially with only 75 watts supplied.
