I plan to purchase a new computer solely for playing games, and I’m considering repurposing my existing PC as a dedicated streaming machine. My intended streaming setup includes:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING
Corsair Value 16GB 2133MHz DDR4 RAM
EVGA 500w Power Supply
I intend to retain the graphics card from my primary gaming PC for this new system. Therefore, could you advise on a budget-friendly GPU recommendation? This setup will be exclusively used for streaming. Do I also require a capture device to transmit games from my main computer to the streaming PC? If so, what model would you suggest? Furthermore, is any additional equipment necessary for transferring audio? Any guidance would be very helpful; thank you.
I’ve attempted gaming and live streaming using this processor, achieving only approximately 50 frames per second in games when streaming – which is somewhat unsatisfactory considering I bought this CPU specifically for streaming and gameplay, as benchmarks indicated it was a good fit. I utilize the x264 encoder while streaming at 900p resolution, and regardless of the settings I employ, I consistently experience low frame rates. Previously, I streamed with NVIDIA’s nvenc technology using my previous processor, obtaining over 100 fps due to the GPU handling the encoding; however, even with nvenc, I still encounter poor performance while streaming, leaving me uncertain whether the CPU is defective or simply a subpar component overall.
