When overclocking, we must reduce the voltage gradually for lower temperatures until the system fails. After a crash, my computer freezes completely with no options left. I just press the power button and shut it down. Is this damaging to my PC? Are there alternative approaches I should consider?

No, while it's not advised to turn your pc off that way normally, that shouldn't hurt your pc, and i don't know of any other way. Just make sure nothing important is open and not saved. Data loss from unsaved applications is why turning your pc off that way normally isnt advised

It's wise to perform a ScanDisk after these crashes, particularly on the system drives. Right-click the drive in This PC/My Computer, go to Properties, and check for System Errors. Even if it advises against it, run Scan Drive to identify issues. You may need to restart the system to resolve them.
