CL19 or CL20? I don't recall Patriot offering a CL20 4000MHz kit.

They are correct, they are CL19.

If you skip manual timing adjustments, this setup will perform well—just don’t run it at 4000MHz. You should double the FCLK value and verify your CPU’s capabilities (typically between 1800MHz and 1900MHz). When you do fine-tune timings manually, the Samsung B-dies in the Patriot kit are recommended.

It's crucial to understand that Cas Latency is expressed in cycles, not time. A higher CL value isn't necessarily negative if your processor can compensate with speed. The latency in nanoseconds equals the cycle count divided by command speed in Hz multiplied by 1000, taking into account that for DDR RAM, Command Speed equals Clock Speed divided by two. Applying this to the example from Fasauceome shows CL19 at 4000Hz has a latency of 9.5ns while CL18 at 3600Hz is 10ns, making CL19 slightly faster in this case.

Need a quick setup? Grab this one. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-...6820232472 I use it with my 8700K and it works well. It's fast. Plus, the price is really low—way cheaper than before.

DDR4-4000 MHz is quite fast, but most CPUs might struggle to run at that speed unless you're very fortunate. On Ryzen processors, the built-in memory controller isn't as strong as Intel's... I guess. I'd prefer a slower DRAM setup, like CL14 or CL16. For instance, DDR4-3200 MHz with CL14 timing would work well. You also get a higher price for DRAM that's optimized for DDR4-4000+ MHz.
