Ladies and Gentlemen,
Thank you for your assistance; the new setup just managed to POST after a bit of effort.
I have a Ryzen 5 7600 with an RX 6800 XT and 32GB DDR5 RAM (two 16GB sticks). The issue is, I ordered RAM that arrived damaged during shipping. At the local Microcenter I found two identical sticks missing, loaded them in, and started using them. Currently, only two of the four slots are filled—what should I do if the remaining two arrive? Should I return them or install them anyway?
As mentioned, both sticks are the same DDR5 model, brand, and specifications. However, I’m not sure I need 64GB and worry it might be a mistake. Any advice?
P.S. All those polite “just check every connection” messages helped, as they quickly revealed the small problem.

Mixing RAM is dicey business. It might or might not work outside of kit, even if specs are identical. So there is that. Apart from that, requirement is purely situational. Who knows what you might be running 2-3 years down the line. But 32gb is plenty as of now unless you have some specific requirement.

using only four sticks could restrict your clock speed to lower ranges

The ram isn't the same. Even parts with the same number and batch won't match. It could fail to function correctly, and using four sticks might lead to poorer results. Return the ram.

Mixing RAM these days is much easier than before. It’s likely it would function just fine, but stick to the slowest models. There’s also a chance it might not work or be stable—no one can promise that. You’d have to test it yourself to be sure. If it works, check stability and you’ll know for sure. For gaming, 32GB is common now, and games are starting to need more. So 32GB should be sufficient, but if you’re doing heavy tasks beyond gaming, 64GB or more might be better. Personally, I wouldn’t risk it unless I’m confident. Good luck!

If your requirement doesn't exceed 32GB, you won't need 64GB. Send the package as is.

These aren't the same as the memory you remember!!!!!!!!!! Even with the same type, speed, timing, and voltage, components can differ. Memory is sold in matched sets for a reason.
Check the task manager to see how much memory you're using; if it's not close to your current setup, adding more will do nothing for your PC.

early access star citizen reaches 25gigs, returnal offers a lower minimum of 16gigs, while another version operates smoothly at around 18gigs; i also recall horizon zero dawn consuming 24gigs during shader compilation.

If you don't have a use for 64GB DRAM then I can't see a reason to keep it.
Even if the kits are identical you will have more DRAM clockspeed problems running 2DPC than 1DPC so it might not even be worth trying either way.
