We're getting used to it every day!
Here’s a revised version of your situation:
Every day while I browse with Firefox, my computer becomes unresponsive. First, the browser stops working, then the taskbar appears and I click the Windows icon to launch it. Once open, I try pressing power buttons like shutdown or restart, but nothing happens. Even Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn’t resolve the issue—only my mouse responds, and I can’t click anything. My RAM usage is around 50%, which usually shouldn’t cause problems. Most of the time, I have about 130 tabs open, but with a 32 GB system, it should be fine. I rarely see a blue screen, only freezing occurs. The temperatures are normal. I’m using Windows 10 on a 5700X processor with 32 GB RAM, a 3600 MHz DDR4 memory, a 970 EVO SSD with 500 GB, and an RX 7900 XTX graphics card. Anyone recognize these symptoms? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I haven’t reinstalled Windows in three years.
It seems the issue only appears with Firefox. The application doesn’t crash when other tasks run. In the Event Viewer, are there any errors or warnings, particularly during freezing? If it freezes and you can’t restart or shut down via Windows, have you checked what happens when you press the power button on the case (if available)? Is the system still responsive at that point? The mouse remains functional even when it freezes.
Tbh i have firefix open constantly casue i have multiple monitors. In event viewer theres a Critical Event-id=41/source=kerknel power/ protocoll=System! 2 of them in the last 24h. is that it? never used the eventviewer! I have to hold the powerbutton on the case to shut it down!
The kernel power 41 indicates an unexpected shutdown, which occurs during power cuts, hard restarts, or reset actions. Are there additional error or warning notifications, particularly in the system log within Event Viewer? Are there any alerts in the Device Manager? Is there a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to a component? Have you verified driver updates for your motherboard and chipset? Did you look for firmware updates for your Samsung SSD? Use Samsung Magician for this. You can also assess system health, perform a drive scan, and check for BIOS updates. Have you looked for any file corruption? Execute DISM and SFC commands in an admin command prompt: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth. If the scan reports a repairable component store, run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth followed by sfc /scannow. After that, execute sfc /scannow. Have you performed a memtest?
The system logs show several warnings before freezing. There are repeated entries for network control, Bluetooth adapter issues, and a warning about two data files being owned twice. The GPU update is complete, but the secondary boot needs updating later. I haven’t checked for motherboard updates yet; I’ll review them now. The SSD appears functional with no failures detected, and DISM reported no component damage.
Warning BTHUSB is linked to Bluetooth, likely connected through a USB device listed in Device Manager. Can you run the PC without it? Try removing it to see if it prevents freezing. Service Control Manager issues—what service is affected? Check your motherboard maker, Asus, for board info and network card drivers. Visit their support site, enter your motherboard model, and look up the drivers there. Avoid third-party scan tools—they’re often untrustworthy. Make sure to update the firmware on your second SSD.
The service control manager reported an issue: "EvevationService" failed to start because the system couldn't locate a file. The "Razer game manager service 3" unexpectedly shut down, which occurred before. I've updated my BIOS and all other drivers as well; the second SSD is now current.
