Hi!
About eight months back, my self-built computer started behaving strangely. When launching specific programs, unusual graphical colors would flash unexpectedly on the display (refer to photos). The problems showed up in Chrome, Edge, Steam (only launcher), Lol launcher, and other mostly web-based apps. It seemed to affect only Chromium-based software, excluding Firefox’s visuals, logos, and related media.
The machine was designed for architectural tasks, using tools like Revit, AutoCAD, Vray, Blender, SketchUp, UE5, etc. It functioned perfectly in all these programs and games.
What I attempted:
- Switched monitors, cables, resolutions, etc.
- Updated GPU from 3070 Ti to 4070, both ASUS TUF OC models.
- Replaced RAM.
- Performed a full Windows 11 reinstall.
- Conducted comprehensive troubleshooting (no faults detected).
- Installed fresh drivers for both studio and gaming applications; also tried previous versions.
My original 3070 Ti was sent in for warranty service, assuming it caused the graphical glitches. It was replaced with a NVIDIA 4070, but the issue persisted after plugging it back in today.
Could other components be responsible for this problem?
System details:
- Power Supply: Corsair RM750x
- GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce 4070 OC
- CPU: i7-11700F
- RAM: G.SKill Aegis DDR4 64 GB 3000MHz
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B560M-Plus
Storage: Seagate Barracuda Q5 500GB and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5"
Software: Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2
OS version: 22621.1992
Installed on: 17.02.2023
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22644.1000.0
