Assembled a fresh PC recently. (Details available at https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/codeyel...ved/3ZvkwP) All appeared normal when I combined everything on Saturday. I booted into an Arch Linux installer USB the following morning. The next day I connected it to my desk and began installing the OS. It failed to start. The motherboard displayed a VGA adapter warning, and the GPU lights and fans didn’t activate. I tried several fixes: removing and reinserting the card, using another GPU, switching cables. It booted a few times but only briefly. The problem seemed linked to the GPU. I thought about giving up and returning it, but after another successful boot, it’s been stable ever since. The concern is whether I should return the card—could this be a sign of deeper hardware issues, or was it just dust in the PCI slot? Are there diagnostic tools I can use to verify the card’s condition?

It might be related to the PCIe ports, the card, or the HDMI/DP cable. Test with a different cable and see if it boots multiple times. If not, try another PCIe slot and repeat. If nothing works, return it for repair.

I've already checked various display cables. They don't appear to influence whether the system boots properly. It's challenging to diagnose right now since everything seems to be functioning correctly. I might try repositioning and reinserting it again to observe if the issue recurs, but this feels like a self-fulfilling prophecy—if I disturb the PCIE slot enough, it's likely to degrade further.

It's functioning properly and you likely have coverage for the foreseeable future, so it's best to keep an eye on it at this point.
