so here’s how i set up: i’m using an i9 9900k, evga ftw3 ultra rtx 2080ti, gygabyte aorus z390, 32gb ram at 3000mhz, and an asus pg348q 3440x1440 monitor at 100hz. i cap my fps at 97 for all games because i play with g sync enabled. it seemed like the games were running at around 60fps instead of 100hz. even with stable fps, my gpu usage was normal around 80% and cpu usage stayed low at about 30%. this issue kept coming up for a while. then yesterday, when i turned on the pc, everything felt smooth—no drops in fps, even for assassin creed origin. what could have caused this?

placebo effect?
anyway, once it resolved on its own, it seems like you should just let it be.
