I've recently observed that alerts from these applications aren't appearing until much later. Sometimes it's delayed hours, and other times you need to open the app first before messages show up. Everyone else seems to notice this right away, but I haven't adjusted notification settings recently. It's unusual for notifications to appear so slowly.
They post messages directly through WeChat, I believe. Have you enabled power-saving mode and lowered the background sync frequency?
I'm not sure if I did that for WhatsApp. I remember using low battery power mode while watching YouTube videos, but then switching back to normal. The same thing happens with Google Voice—sometimes I don’t get notifications until I open the app. I only notice calls or texts when I’m actively using the service. This is the only time I’ve experienced these problems with all three apps. I used to enable Do Not Disturb, but it’s not turned on anymore.
It's an iPhone. I'm still experiencing these problems. I've received messages and calls from WeChat and Google Voice, but I only notice them when I open the app.
Has anyone found a solution to this? I switched to the newest iOS version. I turned off the phone and then turned it back on. Whenever someone sends me a message or makes a call through Google Voice or WeChat, I only realize it when I open the app. Then I see the missed text or call. I didn’t change any settings. The problem appears more related to WeChat and Google Voice now.
