You can connect your Ubiquiti mesh APs into an UDP port and route traffic through a PoE switch, possibly using a Poe device in between. This setup should work securely if configured properly. You won’t need a router unless you want additional features, but a PoE switch is sufficient for basic routing. Running cameras over the same switch and UDP port is also feasible with the right configuration.

You're familiar with the UDMP setup, which typically connects an ISP via a POE switch and then uses that switch to power PoE devices.

The UDMP serves as a complete gateway/router system; no additional hardware is required. Connect your ISP device to the WAN port and everything should work. Ubiquiti’s site is excellent—worth exploring. Note that non-SE UDMP ports aren’t PoE-enabled, so ensure you use the appropriate PoE injector if needed.
