Weapons and their attachments receive an update for AC 1.1 to simplify creation for designers and artists. Visual assets are now included. Currently, an artist can freely design a weapon with desired features such as heat, ammunition, energy, and damage systems. Mounts are limited to size and type (class) they can accommodate, along with corresponding energy and heat connections. The initial adjustment applies to weapons only. Dimensions are now capped at a volume (e.g., 0.25m³) and a specific ratio (2:1 to 7:1), helping artists plan ship construction. Mounting points also have fixed dimensions, ensuring proper alignment and classification based on type, size, and connections. The itemport the weapon connects to is also defined, with maximum capacity limits for size, pipes, and attachment type. The most notable change is the introduction of advanced mounts like turrets, gimbals, or missiles—previously unavailable without limitations. Attaching such components reduces available space; for example, a size 3 mount can support either a fixed gun or a gimbal with a smaller weapon. Manned turrets incur a size penalty. Type restrictions guide what can be mounted, preventing illogical placements like turrets on the nose of a Merlin or manned turrets where access is impossible. Pipes also limit gimbals/turrets by requiring data handling for targeting systems, which can strain processing power or block access to fuel lines. Overall, the changes aim for better balance and clarity. This update brings precision targeting capabilities with smaller arms or mastering joystick controls—though I might need a new joystick 😅. Sorry for the delayed TL;DR this week. I moved this Saturday and had limited internet, so I couldn’t watch it yet. I’ll try again once connectivity improves.

Sweet, remove the m3a guns from my Mustang and install a 2-marker missile instead.

It brings me deep sorrow. I now have two Panthers suffering, and I can't use them anymore.

It doesn't fit because the design no longer matches the dimensions of the gimbal mounts.

Exactly. With the gimbals reduced in size, my wing and nose mounts can now accommodate a maximum of 2. Panthers are rated for size 3.

I just noticed how impressive the Super Hornet really is in this setup. Two 5-mounts on the wings, a size 3 turret on the nose, and a size 5 turret in the center. If you can't get them or CIG won't allow it, I'll purchase them from you. Please let me know via PN.
