Hi
Could a 550W PSU affect performance and cause stutters on my build?
I’ve heard the GPU needs at least 650+W.
My PC setup:
CPU: Ryzen 7 3800XT
CPU cooler: unknown, temps seem normal
Motherboard: TUF GAMING B450-PLUS II
RAM: 32GB Dual-Channel DDR4 3600MHz
SSD: 119GB TS128GMTS430S (SATA, 1907GB Lexar SSD NM620 2TB)
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2080Ti GAMING X TRIO 11G
PSU: 550W
OS: Windows 11 Home

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Please note the power rating: 550w. This is the advertised wattage of the device. Could you provide the model and make of the unit? Also, how recent is it?
You might want to consider a more reliable model with at least 650w;

Hi, I'm currently at work and can't check right now. After getting home, I'll look and respond. Do you think a low wattage PSU might affect your PC's performance? Thanks for your reply.

No, if the PSU can't handle it you'll experience crashes, the GPU requires 650W during spikes (search online) to run smoothly without stutters. Use Vsync or another sync method to ease system load and achieve better performance.
